Inchoate:Reasearc on our Word!

While researching my word inchoate through GSU library website there were books that came up with either that word used. Or in other words the books came up that pertain to that word or had keyword relevance. Inchoate can be used more then one way. It can be used as either a noun or a verb. I learned that inchoate means; just begun, incipient; in an initial or early stage; hence elementary, imperfect, undeveloped, and immature. (Oxford English Dictionary) That’s the definition of the word used as a noun form. The word also can be used in a sentence such as this: The position I have ventured to maintain..as to the inchoate, imperfect, and transitional work of John.(Oxford English Dictionary) Inchoate used as a verb is said , To begin, commence, initiate, take the first steps in. (Oxford Dictionary) To use inchoate as a verb in a sentence here’s an example. How he..Conceives and inchoates the argument.(Oxford English Dictionary) Doing some more research on the library website I went to find articles and more and I noticed there werent any articles on this word but there was a journal called Inchoative aspect in French.(Wilson Web) This word was hard to find 5 sources on because it wasn’t like it was a book. It was a word that the only thing I can really find use on the library website was the dictionary. And the dictionary gave me variety of definitions used for as a verb and a noun. And it also gave me many ways the word was used in a sentence. So my search was very limited to the things I needed to use to research my word. So the oxford dictionary and Wilson Web on the GSU website is the only thing I found useful and gave me a little bit of information for my word.

Who am I?

The process that I took to research my author was that I typed in Ludacris name in yahoo search engine and I clicked on the first search. The first search was the official Ludacris website that had his biography, news, pictures, and etc. I clicked on biography to read about him to see what he’s about. I looked at this website because it said the official website so I figured it would be a lot of information that I can gain from it. But the disadvantage of this site is that it’s open to a lot of other artists. So it’s not a lot of valuable information for this artist. So I went to another site to see what better information I can get about Ludacris. It is called Ludacris world to where it’s mainly about Ludacris and no other artist so if focused mainly on Ludacris. It includes some of his songs and his lyrics. I looked here because it’s mainly his world so I got more information from this site then I did the previous one. From this website I learned a lot I got some good information about this artist. I also am appauled about why he made this song, “Runaway Love” because a lot of his songs are explicit. So this is something that I found interesting because he went out of his norm to produce something so real. This song makes you think he went away from the normal “hoe” or other explicit words used in his lyrics. But I found a disadvantage in this website the more I began to look over the website I noticed it didn’t really have a biography on him. It just focused more on his music and he albums he came out with. So it helps in a sense to where I can relate it to his work but not any background information. So both of these websites had advantages and disadvantages that helped me do my research.

Peer Review

The peer review session today in class went well. We exchanged each others papers and critiqued them. It went well because it’s always better for someone else to read your paper because they can find more mistakes then the writer can. Not only did we have one person read our paper it was two. That’s a good idea because whatever the first person missed the second person can catch it. They left very helpful comments that can further help me write my paper. This is a good way to help each other write our papers.
What could have been better was if we had enough time to discuss each others papers with each other. Time is so short that we only have time to read each others papers and fill out our drafting sheet. I would like for a person to point out my mistakes and verbally inform me of my mistakes and not just me leaving the classroom and just reading the comments left on my paper. Also being able to explain more of what the person needs to work on to better their paper as a whole. But time is so limited that we don’t have time for a lot of that. So with that being said peer review can be so much better if we had more time.
