The peer review session today in class went well. We exchanged each others papers and critiqued them. It went well because it’s always better for someone else to read your paper because they can find more mistakes then the writer can. Not only did we have one person read our paper it was two. That’s a good idea because whatever the first person missed the second person can catch it. They left very helpful comments that can further help me write my paper. This is a good way to help each other write our papers.
What could have been better was if we had enough time to discuss each others papers with each other. Time is so short that we only have time to read each others papers and fill out our drafting sheet. I would like for a person to point out my mistakes and verbally inform me of my mistakes and not just me leaving the classroom and just reading the comments left on my paper. Also being able to explain more of what the person needs to work on to better their paper as a whole. But time is so limited that we don’t have time for a lot of that. So with that being said peer review can be so much better if we had more time.

I'm glad to find a proponent of peer review. I'm not saying I'm an opponent, though I do object to having it forced on us in this manner, as well as limited to those in the class, but I do like the fact that there is someone who agrees with this method. Would you think that having outside of class sessions would help your paper more? Have you ever been to the writing lab?
